8:45-9:00  --  Get some food and find a table. Introduce yourself to your table mates.
9:00-9:15  --  Welcoming remarks and introduction to the program
9:30-11:00 -- Overview of research, types of research programs, and goals of students.  Work in groups to explore programs.
11:15-12:15 -- Research areas, faculty, and the undergraduate student.  Going to graduate school and the process.
12:15-1:00 -- Lunch (we will provide lunch and snacks)
1:00-2:00  -- Introduction to the research process: Identifying and formulating research problems; reading research papers; analyzing data. Planning for your own research journey.
2:00-2:30  -- Short presentations of results of group exercise
2:30-3:30  -- What happens next?  What do you need to do?  Connecting with mentors and faculty.
3:30-4:00  -- Concluding remarks, what to do before the next workshop, and plans for future meetings
